Fully Guided Kenai Peninsula Fishing Trips
You’ve likely landed on this page because you’re looking for a Kenai or Kasilof Fishing Guide for your upcoming Kenai Area Fishing Trip. Well.. you’ve come to the right place! The Kenai Fishing Guides at RiverRise Fishing Guides fish the Kenai & Kasilof Rivers full time and have been doing it for over 20 years! Every season, we spend around 125 days strictly fishing these rivers. We run trips for all 5 species of Salmon, Steelhead and Resident Rainbow Trout. The possibilities are endless!
King Salmon fishing can be one of the most exciting fisheries of them all, especially when you hook into a big and bright 40 pound Tidewater King Salmon. The last few King Salmon Seasons on the Kenai River have been closed due to the lack of fish returning to the river, but we have had great success fishing for Kings on “Kenai’s Little Sister; the Kasilof River”. The Lower Kasilof River is a “Drift Boat Only” river, so your King Salmon Fishing Trip will take place in one of our new and fully loaded 20ft Willie Drift boats.
We run both morning and evening fishing trips on the Lower Kasilof River and fish with a variety of different techniques from back-bouncing cured salmon eggs to float fishing beads. This fishery is primarily a tidal fishery and we try to adjust our trips based on the tide swings. If you enjoy fishing, a drift boat fishing trip for Kings should be at the top of your list! Our King Salmon Trips are full day only and can accommodate up to 4 people per trip, we start fishing for them at the beginning of June and can go all the way until the end of July.
May 17th – July 31st
1…2…3..SWING! Imagine standing knee deep in a river with literally thousands of Sockeye Salmon swimming by your feet! That’s what it’s like to fish the Kenai & Kasilof Rivers for Sockeye! We fish both rivers and the decision to fish either is based on run timing and size.
Our Sockeye Salmon Season kicks off on June 15th every year, with the arrival of the Early Run Sockeye Salmon, and will last all the way until the end of July! We offer fully guided Kenai & Kasilof River Sockeye Salmon Fishing Trips, and our trips are available to Anglers of all skill levels, ages and abilities! We run both half day and full day, morning and evening, trips for Sockeye Salmon and are able to accommodate up to 5 people per trip.
June 15th – July 31st
Our Silver Salmon Fishing Season kicks off on August 1st every year, with the arrival of the Early Run Silver Salmon, and will last all the way until the end of our Season; September 15th! We offer fully guided Kenai & Kasilof River Silver Salmon Fishing Trips, and our trips are available to Anglers of all skill levels, ages and abilities! We run both half day and full day trip for Silver Salmon, but recommend full days trips if you’re looking to catch your limits of fish.
Silver Salmon fishing is similar to fishing for Kings, using a lot of the same techniques. Silvers are generally a bit more aggressive and we catch them using a variety of techniques, from back bouncing eggs to twitching jigs and everything in between!
August 1st – September 15th
Most people come to the Kenai River to fish for Kings and Sockeye, but the trophy trout fishing on the middle and upper sections can be spectacular at times. We start targeting trout around the middle of August and will fish for them all the way until the end of our season, which is September 15th. We fish from both Drift Boats and Power Boats and tailor our Fully Guided Trophy Trout Fishing Trips to the river size and flow. Our trips remain flexible so that we are able to provide our clients with the highest chance of success.
We run both half day and full day, morning and afternoon, Kenai River trips for Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden. Because of the type of fishing that we do for trout, we have a 3 person max on our boats.
